It began in Kalmar.

THE STORY
Long before entering a race, I watched athletes cross an IRONMAN finish line in Sweden. I wasn’t doing endurance sports then. The atmosphere stayed with me, and so did the idea of one day trying it myself.
Training started in September 2025. Swimming was the hardest beginning: 25 metres and I was out of breath. Over the following months came the first continuous 2-kilometre swim, a marathon in Lausanne, and a roughly 180-kilometre ride around Lake Geneva. Progress also meant learning about injuries and recovery.
On 6 September 2026, the distances became real: 1.9 kilometres in the water, 90 kilometres on the bike, then a half marathon. The official splits were 41:14, 2:31:07 and 1:51:13. With the transitions, the clock stopped at 5:13:25.
When I began, finishing within the time limits was the ambition. Finishing under 5 hours 15 opened a different perspective. The next objectives are a full-distance IRONMAN in Les Sables-d’Olonne and a 70.3 in Nice in 2027.
